Our Story
Long before Servesmiths we were behind Team Catford: a multi award winning placemaking initiative, powered by a real passion for putting our corner of south east London on the map.
When that project ended nothing about our momentum faded — it simply transferred into building Servesmiths, guided by the very same core aim: pulling people closer together, deepening the bonds within our local community, and steadily making the neighbourhood around us better.
We're firm believers in keeping things simple — but doing them well.
We didn't set out to run coffee shops. It was only when our local coffee shop announced it was closing that we stepped in.
Since then, things have grown: we run two shops in Catford, a third is on the way in Nunhead, and we've just agreed to take on another site in Lewisham.
None of this is accidental — it's genuinely woven into who we are. We were born in this area, grew up here, went to school, here built our working lives here, with every chapter of our story unfolding somewhere along the 185 bus route.
Coffee
Our seasonal house blend coffee is supplied by Assembly Coffee, Brixton’s award-winning roastery. Driven by purpose and impact, Assembly Coffee strives to produce coffee that is the pinnacle of quality while redefining how coffee can be sourced to return greater value to farming communities, and those along the supply chain. They are B-Corp and Carbon Neutral certified.
Baked Goods
Each day, you’ll find a delectable array of freshly baked treats, from buttery pastries and indulgent cookies to our much-loved famous banana bread. At the weekend, the selection expands even further, with a tempting range of seasonal bakes, freshly made sourdough bread and other delicious produce, all prepared with care and perfect for taking home or enjoying alongside your favourite coffee.
The Pantry
In The Pantry, you’ll find a carefully curated and ever-changing selection of locally produced goods, thoughtfully chosen to complement your coffee and everyday rituals. Discover freshly roasted coffee from Assembly Coffee, alongside beans from our favourite guest roasters, as well as a considered collection of homeware and other beautiful, useful finds. With our selection rotating regularly, there’s always something new to discover, whether you’re stocking up on your coffee favourites, looking for a thoughtful gift or simply treating yourself.
